Hello,
This is my first post in this forum, hope many more can come after this one.

Today I received my Mcusta Tsuchi.
I ordered it from the only site in the internet where I could find it, its a spanish site, i cant find this knife even in the oficial Mcusta site...
If anyone knows why this knife doesn't appear anywhere please tell me.

Lets get to the review itself.

In my opinion this knife is just beautiful.
The handle kind of resembles a katana tsuka and the damascus blade makes it a very stylish looking knife but at the same time with a traditional look to it.
The blade came shaving sharp, but not hair popping sharp.
The material of the blade is damascus with a vg-10 core.
The handle is made of aluminium.

I would prefer the clip on the bottom of the handle, but this is a very resistant clip because it is a continuation of the handle and not just screwed there.

This knife has a liner lock, that is perfect for light or medium duty.

Overall I loved this knife and I look foward to buy more Mcusta knifes.
Sorry for my English ;)

Welcome to BF!

Impressive first post, nice little write up and great pics.

I have four Mcusta's and have been quite impressed with them. The f&f are outstaning.

I have not seen that Mcusta on any US site yet, but I hope that changes, I really like the look of it.
Not real crazy about all the text on the handle...thats kind of unusual for Mcusta and I think it rather hurts the looks.

Question: I noticed what appears to be a button....is that a lock release or is this one an auto?

Thank you Alann.
It looks like a button but is not, this knife has a regular liner lock.

Welcome to BF!

I agree the white lettering on the handle ruins the elegance, making it a bit 'mal ninja-ish' (if there's such term) out of a very nice blade & handle.

Is the 'button' actually pivot screw?

Unfortunately, with the liner + clip placement, the handle is thicker on one side. I prefer symmetrical handle. Since the clip is permanent, if it's bent, there's no way to bend it back without dismantling the whole liner, so hopefully it's really strong wihout being too tight.

Nice short write up & photo... Please let us know how it performs, comfort level when using, etc. after more use.
Lastly, any spec (length, thickness)?

Yes. I should have realized that, since it looks like my other Mcusta's. I obviously was not thinking when I asked.

I sort of have a fixation about symmetry too....which can be quite annoying, particularly when it comes to knives. I try to fight it. :D This one actually doesn't look too bad to me.

I believe the clip(s) on Mcustas can be removed, though I haven't actually done it.

I dont like the letters too.
Yes, the so called button is a pivot screw.
The handle is thicker in one side but I found that it kind of improves the confort when handling the knife, and if they where to put metal liners in both sides the knife would get realy heavy.
The clip is realy strong, it would be very hard to bend.

Here are some specs:

Thank you for the specs!

Having liner on boh sides will make it heavier, but perhaps a thicker handle slab to do that? Or skeletonized liner?
Just my obsession on symmetry I guess :D lol
