Mea Culpa - took a folder apart and can't seem get it back together

I took my Fallkniven U1 apart ... can't even remember why! I need some advice on how to get this rascal back together again. The entire handle and backspring are welded together and I'm having problems depressing the spring enough to get the blade in place to put the pivot screw (with a flat) into the correct alignment. I need a technical assist please.

Not taken that specific knife apart but many others with similar spring set ups. If you can't find a YouTube vid then you'll have to get creative.

I've made a few simple shim-like tools out of pop cycle sticks or scrap metal to assist in spring reassembly.
