Can anyone give me an idea of where REKAT came-up with the name "Sifu" for their excellent large folder? What does the word mean?

...Just curious.

Chinese for Teacher. Very appropriate.

"Sifu" is often used in the western culture in the martial arts context, e.g., students may refer to their instructor as "Sifu" (in Chinese styles).

SIFU is the chinese translation of the word Master.
Rather then just teacher, in chinese a teacher is a JiaoShi.
and SIFU should actually be SHIFU...
just wanted to let you folks know..
take care..

Sifu - Father Teacher. A term of respect for one's mentor. With a company name like REKAT they must have a sense of humor so it could also have multiple meanings. Seem to remember one from an old thread along this subject:
Steriod
Injected
F'er
Upper

Howdy,

My two fave's from the old thread were:

and

And my theory is that the Sifu was named "teacher" on the principle that it will "teach" people not to mess with you!
