Heavy Duty Men's Copper Cuff Bracelet

I'm really excited with this one! I have been working on the design for a while and finally made it happen. I started this piece off with a big sheet of copper and worked everything by hand.

It feels really great on the wrist, nice and smooth inside and out. This is my first one and has some minor tooling marks on the interior.

I used this same Stratification pattern texture pattern on a recent framelock... feels and looks great!

Textured - Blackened - Aged Finish - Stratification Pattern

Size - Man's Large to Extra Large (around 8.5" wrist) ~5/8" wide

Weight - ~60 Grams - Heavy Duty!

Treated with Renaissance Wax to protect against oxidation.

^ :D yes it was, I'm floored by the response on these (on FB) and might need to work evenings, lol!

Looks like you found another area for the DFK brand. DFK knives with matching accessories. :D

I love the design. Curious, I've heard that if the copper has a patina on it the wearer's skin won't turn green. Have you worn your bracelets and experienced skin changes?

:D The stuff the locals here make has really gotten me into heavy duty metal work... in one of the towns near me about half of the population is a silversmith. The high end stuff is just nuts and I have wanted to learn for a while. I need some pics... usually the good stuff is hard to find.

This is just right down the road from me! Long video but really cool. Check out the bed in the middle of the shop. I think I might know some of his family from my stone cutting days. Incredible work!

Cool! I want to make some... I have a soldering torch and have been meaning to learn hard soldering.

I find that to be true with most people. For me the copper will not turn with use but it depends on skin chemistry. The black patina will generally stay that way even with lots of use... I even sanded it down some with 2000 grit and it stayed dark.

I have sold a lot of copper jewelry over the years but this is the first piece I have made. Bright copper will usually tarnish after a while but this patina really helps.

With a plain or bright piece a simple dip in salt and vinegar will almost instantly remove tarnish with no effort. You can also use silver cleaner or brasso... oth will clean but also inhibit corrosion.
