I’ve been watching his YouTube for years, and have bought several good knives on his recommendation- a Demko 20.5, and the gimmicky Reate Exo-M, in the last two years. He likes Hinderer as well, and I think I heard of his channel looking for scales. What do you think?

Based on the last few threads about knife Youtubers, I'd say people here generally dislike most of them. I think part of it has to do with how the content game is played. To be successful, you need to upload often, consistently, and quickly in response to new developments. None of this is conducive towards thoughtful and in-depth reviews, so the result is that the most prominent knife review channels barely take the time to get to know the knives they review, much less actually use them. I'd put Metal Complex in this category. He does make a lot of videos, which is at least useful to get a closer look at a knife I can't find much info on. However, I take his opinions with a huge grain of salt.

His aesthetic opinions and price range are not me, but I sort of like his reviews. He doesn’t seem to be pimping anything but himself.

As for used cars? I suspect he is a trusty. Takes one to know one.

Stopped watching his videos and unsuscribed to his channel after he took the side of Transparent Knives. He went so far as to delete my posts.

I enjoy his reviews. I know I'll get detailed close-ups and some enjoyable banter, and he's open about what he likes. I share his love of Hinderers, so we come at knives from a somewhat similar place.

I don't think I've ever seen him review a knife he dislikes. And that's OK; not everyone likes doing negative reviews. But he'll quibble about details from time to time, and those are often quite useful to me when they match up to my personal dealbreakers.

Eh, I enjoy watching his videos. I’m not much for YouTubers but I do get enjoyment watching his.

I usually watch about 30 seconds of his reviews to get an idea of the size and function of a knife I'm unfamiliar with, then go look for more information elsewhere.

I think it's cool he pumps out so many unboxings, reviews, etc. because it does make me aware of knives I might otherwise miss.

That said, because he pumps out so much content so fast I don't pay much attention to what he thinks about the knives because there's no way it's an opinion that's been formed by a lot of use. No hate on him, just the pros and cons of making content like that, IMO.

A whole thread dedicated to one reviewer? Oh the honor..
He talks too much, he helped me feel better about lock stick though--- so where credits due..
Oh, and it always seems like his newest video is featuring the best knife in the world, until the next video comes. So if you have a question, post it and see if he makes a video on the topic

I generally watch reviews just to get a better look at a knife I’ve already bought but not received yet or are about to buy. I used to watch his videos but got sick of his self promotion at the beginning for the first minute and now avoid his videos.

He's one of the reasons that I'm such a big fan of the 'fast forward 10 seconds' button. Hammer that about seven times and the knife suddenly appears! 😉

Heh, I was going to say the same thing. I like his channel, but he does so many videos that he can get repetitive on certain subjects, e.g., "looks like a Bugout, Civivi pocket clip, etc." Fast forward through the familiar jags and he often has good info.

I like checking his vids just to eyeball the new stuff, but since he doesn't do the reviews after using them they aren't super useful to me beyond that

I watched him years ago but moved on. The videos are too cookie cutter. Now I'll only watch if can't find anything else about the knife i am after.
