Microscope

It has taken me some attempts to get this post right, but here it is. I have been able to get this one work with my Samsung Galaxy phone, but it wasn’t without trouble…

The idea of using my PC, while I'm sharpening, doesn't appeal to me. The particles released from the stones could eventually damage the PC. My smartphone is much better protected, so it is the option, I prefer.

Handling both the microscope and the knife and taking pictures at the same time hasn’t been easy for me, so I have ordered an aluminium alloy base to hold the microscope. The stand seems to have enough weight, to make it stable, which will hopefully give me more control:

I found these USB magnifiers and they look like they fit the stand. However, I can’t say for sure, and I don’t really know, if they offer advantages over a smartphone:
