Got this as a gift and I'm just wondering what it's worth and if it's a rare or special edition. Thinking about selling it here and wanted to get some estimates of what it's worth before I posted it.

Thanks!

Darn, I've really looked up info can can't seem to find anything on this specific model (O/E). Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You got it as a gift and now you're selling it? Classy.

Near as I can tell, it looks like a Combat Troodon S/E. Google that, do your homework and you should be able to get any info you want.

That's a rather highly sought-after OTF auto. You really should think twice before you get rid of it.....

I dunno, I don't find it THAT bad. I mean, you've never gotten a gift that you didn't ask for and didn't want that you didn't keep?

If it's expensive or well-meant, I keep it. If it's just something someone bought out of obligation, I'll pass it on to someone who wants it freely. I'm just sentimental I guess.

Being that I don't live in a state that's as "free" as yours. I would rather put some money into a compact handgun fund.

Why don't you give it back to the person that gave it to you? I'm sure they'd rather have it back, than see you sell it off without a care in the world.

honestly unless this is a really old Microtech (or Im a complete idiot and have no Idea what Im talking about :D), it looks like one of those fake china junkers.

A) the screws don't look right....they should be the proprietary 3 dot pins

B) the blade doesn't look well ground. (visual grind lines)

C) the emblem on the clip looks wrong.

D) rubbing blade from making contact with the handle

E) No markings on the blade indicating blade steel.

again correct me if I'm wrong but to me it screams fake.

I will agree that it doesn't like look the ones I've seen.

That is almost certainly a fake. Mushy handle machining, crappily finished blade its painted and not annodized... Even has bubbles. Im goin with definitely fake. Keep it. And DON'T try to sell it as a Microtech.

It also says O/E. Dont they use S/E for this kind of blade, meaning single edge? And then D/E for double edge etc. I did however find a Combat Troodon online that had a single edge in this blade shape.

Also, OP, automatic OTF knives are not legal in my state, but if it's a real Microtech, someone must have thought highly of you to gift you with it.

Ya that's definitely a fake. Didn't notice it as I was posting from my phone earlier. That's worth nothing OP.

^^

pretty sure they dont cost that much new even if it is orange(unless its a custom):D. if its functional (auto action works and it cuts) carry it around the house double actions are fun.

Yea, either your friend got ripped off, or he's setting you up to rip off someone else.
I'd softly place it in your favorite trash can.
