Hi, I am looking to add a fully serrated folder on the large side. I found the this Microtech on BHQ. Yes, I realize it is built in China, but that doesn't bother me as long as the quality is there. I really love the look of this blade in the serrated version and its dimension are prefect for me. Does anyone have any first hand experience with this model? They are sold out everywhere except BHQ

They are excellent knives and the quality is definitely there. Keep your eyes open and you’ll find one, Microtech also sells these directly on their website. I believe you can sign up for notifications, or maybe just call them and they can clue you in on when they will be available again: (828) 684-4355

My recommendation would be to go for the Socom Elite if you can find a fully serrated model. It's a better knife overall than the Bravo.

Lighter, cheaper, slightly thinner and more acute blade grinds on the S/E, fewer hotspots, a better clip (subjective but I'll die on this hill), and the action on any of the Elites I've ever had was nicer than the Bravo, especially considering actuating the lock bar.

I was nodding until this. I have one of each, and far prefer the SOCOM Bravo. They're just obscenely nice. And the Bravos can be carried correctly as the gods intended: Tip up! :D

The Socom Elite (NOT Bravo) is on my "want" list, partially because it's one of few knives that has the correct clip position! Unfortunately I've given up looking after over a year of not being able to find one in stock...

They’re listed on the exchange and that Arizona consignment site all the time.

Plus, the ladies prefer tip-up. LOL.

I agree though, I just can't carry tip down, and tip down only knives ruin it for me.

I'm not paying higher than new prices for used knives. I don't need it that badly.
The scalpers are actually doing me a favor - I didn't really need to buy one new either😂

Tip up mod??

Is that particular to the MT or a generic modification?

I think they're different knives.

For EDC? Go Elite
For Bling? Go Bravo
For Tactical? Go Bravo (Elite is blade heavy, Bravo better balanced)
For Comfort? Go Bravo
For Value? Go buy a Kershaw lol.

Lock preference: Elite
Personal preference? Bravo

Hope this helps!

The Bravo looks beautiful. On the BHQ site it says “premium steel” for the blade. Anyone know which premium steel they mean?
