Just a heads up.

I purchased a Limited Edition knife from them.
They treat the knife box as a shipping box, so when it arrived the box was completely destroyed.

Sure the knife survived.
But the point is if the buyer placed any value on having the original box intact, well that's not going to happen.

Contacting them then becomes a maze of messages and emails.
And that's a game I have entirely no interest in playing.

So in the future, I'm simply never going to buy anything from them again.
I thought others would be interested in knowing how poorly they may package and ship your purchases as well.

Thanks.

Did they make it right though? I’ve bought from midway several times over the years without issue. Did they accept the return?

Never had that issue with them before, all my orders arrived in a shipping box. Maybe a new employee shipped it?

I received my Cold Steel Master Hunter 3v today. The Cold Steel box was inside of a bubble wrap mailing envelope. Not the way I am used to having blades shipped but glad the CS box was sturdy.

Sorry you had issues and hope it was a fluke.

Never ordered a knife from Midway, but plenty of firearm related products and everything I ordered came secure and undamaged and on time.

I sent them a message, and I haven't heard back.
Probably because of the weekend.

Just the hassle of it all is the most irritating thing about it.
I have hundreds of knives from various sellers and the only other time the shipper treated the knife box as if it were a shipping box was a knife purchased on ebay.

I'll probably settle for the fact that this was a lesson learned, and at least I was able to alert others of their questionable shipping practices.

Not happy, but sometimes you gotta pick your battles.
Thanks for putting up with my rant.
😬

Worthless without pics. Also I have lots of good experience buying from them.

I'd say it is more than "questionable"; many collectors put a premium on original packaging materials. I'm interested to see/hear their response. And while not necessarliy "worthless without pics" it is always good practice to provide any evidence you can when coming to the court of public opinion.

This is strange to hear. I have ordered many knives from them and they have all come packed in a separate box or heavily padded pouch. Possibly an oversight by a new employee?

I have been doing business with midway for 25+ years. Alot of business. never an issue. Always great service, quick shipping, and good packing. Plus they financially support our gun and knife communities. Recommend them 100%. Seems like you are posting here bashing them without giving them an opportunity to even respond or make it right. Not a good look for you honestly.

Whoa.

I didn't pack and ship the knife I paid $250 for that arrived in a smashed box.

Who cares what their response is.
It doesn't change the fact they sent a rather expensive product to a customer with less than adequate packing, thus the item arrived with diminished value.

If they have done this once to me, I highly doubt that it isn't a practice.
At least by this "new employee".... How many packages do they send out a day?
Either unsupervised or trained to do so?

You want a picture?
I could smash a box and take a picture, and you would trust that?
Yet you don't believe me....?

Go ahead and buy from them if you want.
I won't.

"Bash them."
Really?

The things that make folks the maddest is the truth.
