mineral oil recommendations

I just came across this site called Thirteen Chefs and they seem super legit! Anyone have experience with them? Looking for mineral oil for my blades going into storage. Any suggestions on which mineral oil to get?

For storage it would probably be better to use Renassaince wax.
I use a lot of my knives for food prep, I figured if I wanted to swamp out my rotation this would be the best option (should of included that in the post)

I thought you meant long-term storage. For food prep I just use the common mineral oil that is safe to use as a laxative.

Go to the local Walgreens or CVS and spend $3 on a bottle. It will last a decade or more and you can save money avoiding mineral oils labeled for cutting boards or knives.

Personally, for food knives such as my steak knives in VG10 or my chef/paring knife in standard German knife steel I never oil them. I hand clean and dry immediately after use and store in a dry place. For non-stainless knives, same. For non-food knives, 3-in-1 oil is sufficient. Again, a low cost alternative that works.

Food grade mineral oil is all I use on my carbon steel knives. Works great and it’s fairly cheap.

Mineral oil can also be found at feed stores, which is probably the cheapest source. Sold as a livestock laxative. It's what I use for cutting boards, butcher blocks and most oilstones. Around twenty bucks a gallon, give or take a couple dollars.

I've been getting the light mineral oil from feed stores for use on oil stones. Its less viscous than the drug store stuff.

For long-term protection in storage a food-safe paste wax like one of the waxes by Real Milk Paint Co. might be a better option.
