What would you guys include in a kit for urban survival, that can be easily carried?

Two items stand out immediately, a multi-tool and a small stockpile of water purification tablets. In a survival situation both would be priceless.

my #1 and best urban survival kit item would be a map with several routes to get out of the urban area ...

But it wouldn't vary much from any survial kit ... the same tools would still have many of them same uses ... and our needs would be the same ... just possibly different resources.

So I guess it wouldn't be much if any different ... maybe try to make it somewhat less conspicuous to avoid drawing unwantrd attention.

Don't forget cash. In wilderness survival, it is easily to omit. Just an expensive tinder. Definitely want some in an urban survival situation.

I'm thinking a basic first aid kit would still be high on the list, lots of stuff to get cut on.

Also, small transistor radio like the Kaito KA200 or KA210; they are tiny at 3.5 x 0.8 x 2.3 inches for the KA200. And a set of earbuds for use with radio or phone for listening to news when using a speaker is not a good idea.

single cell flashlight w/spare battery, multi-tool, lighter & matches, first aid kit, water filter and a couple collapsible 1L water bags, bandana/shemag-sized piece of flannel, gloves, SAK, emergency/casualty blanket, bobbin full of braided fishing line or kevlar cord, small sewing kit, calories (trail/datrex bars, shortbread cookies, bakers chocolate), emergen-C, folding esbit stove w/fuel, metal cup, half a dozen tea bags

Case Peanut, Crasftman 4-in-1 screwdriver, P38 Can Opener, cash, Bic, and a AAA flashlight. It's all compact yet capable.

I would second just about all of this, except for the knife.

A small skeleton tang fixed blade can be almost as small, more sturdy, and made with a better alloy than Case offers. With a kydex sheath, it can be made to hide easier and not take up pocket real estate or print.

If I were to add a folding knife, it would be an older Camillus C4 or R4 scout for a stainless option with redundancy for a few tools, while adding a saw.
