Did a mirror polish on carbon steel. Got it 99.999%.
But not perfect...........
Plan to go back to a high hand satin. What are some options/recomendations?
0000 steel wool? 1200 grit? Hand scotch brite? Or does it matter? LOL LOL
Thanks!

i like 1000 grit, and 600 grit for a satin finish. maybe start at 2000, see if you like it, and if not go lower. the 2000 will still be reflective.

I actually did this recently myself and took a polished blade back to 1200. I liked it a lot better and didn't take long at all since is was a clean scratch free surface to start with.

Started at 1500, then 600. Like the 600 look so far. Not too bad working in reverse. LOL LOL

Ended up liking 600 and 0000 steel wool & oil.

Toned it down, more / finer lines.......... I think.
Still a bit reflective. Can still see my face looking at it. LOL LOL

Am not a knife maker, just made a knife for fun. :)
