hey everyone. i just have one quick question. does anyone know where i can get a new sickle? i mean i can get like an old used one of ebay but i would prefer to get a new modern day one. my older brother broke mine in half yesterday trying to pry a crate open. ive come to really use it alot over the years from landscaping to camping and i dont want to let go of such a usefull tool.
anyway hope you all can help. thanks

If your local gardening store/ gardening dept. doesn't carry any, just search online for "garden sickle". You can also search under "grass hook" for the more curved scythelike version.

thanks. when i searched for them i found some weird tactical sythe/sickels that looked really fun

i found this pic on bladeforums. does anyone know what these are?

i really want one just to hang up in my house.

Those are from American Kami.

As far as a new sickle goes are you looking for a normal one or a scythe-bladed one? If standard pattern are you looking for serrated or non? Seymour Manufacturing has a number of different ones.

As 42Blades said, they are made by American Kami, his interpretation of the kama, a Japanese martial arts weapon developed from their sickle.

That's a convincing way to tell a burglar to go rob someone else.

i would prefer a sythe like one but i wouldnt mind a normal one. and thank you for telling me the name of those tactical ones, i really like them alot. to bad they dont sell them on the site. could you recommend any other crazy bad*ss style sythes or sickles to look at?

I got this Turkish one from Scythe Connection:

I've used it to trim grass and weeds around the property, either when my scythe was in between snaths, or for areas where the scythe was too large to access easily.

cool! thank you guys for all the help. that turkish one looks nice. i might have to get a fewX) thanks again

Oh man i can only imagine the legal problems if the "tactical" kama was ever used in a defensive situation

I thought we were talking about garden tools.

If we want to talk curved sharp and pointy... here's a little something I have for Silat. It is a solid piece of forged steel starting from the 1" thick octagonal bolster that tapers from the 1/4" base of the spine all the way to the point that is barely thicker than the dollar bill. It is very light and fast.

Singularity, what do you call them in Ilonggo? Sanggut/sanggot or something else? They call them karit in Batangas, and arit in Java, Indonesia.

Here's a real deal working arit from a small forge in the middle of West Java I currently have up for sale:

Marugg carries this nice Austrian scythe-bladed sickle made by Shroeckenfux. :)

Not however if the burglar is looking to steal sickles!
