Hello!

When I'm backpacking, I usually carry my Leatherman XTi, Juice S2, or my SAK Farmer in addition to a fixed blade (currently just using a Rat Izula for short trips).

I came across this last night:

They added serrations, and traded a can opener for a saw.

I'm very interested in trying this out, as it would be a great addition to a mini-kit. I love my XTi, but its big, and my only complaint about my Juice is the lack of a simple saw.

I'm going to try to add a saw to my S2, as well as modify a PS4. I'm not too much of a gram counter, but my main issue is overall size for my mini-kit that I want to always carry on me.

The pliers on the Squirt's aren't as good as the Juice, but for most things I think I'd need them for, they should be just fine (unless I'm trying to make a shelter out of a plane wing).

What do you all think of this modded PS4 as a good kit option?

I love that saw. Thats a great mod - a killer addition.

Having a PS4 in your pocket, versus having nothing, makes the PS4 mighty valuable. Its a lot of mini-tools in not much space, which is what many of us are looking for. The saw makes it even that much better, IMO.

I have 4 PS4's headed my way - one for each of the Powernoodles. I've stuck a mini-EDC ring in Mrs. Powernoodle's purse that has a Squirt, Fenix AAA light, mini prybar and tweezer, and my progeny are at the age where they are starting to dig this stuff.

Personally, I never saw a point for the little scissors when it's already got a knife. Think I'd rather trade those for the can/bottle opener back. Like all the other options though...

I felt the same until I was out in the field with an ingrown toenail. I can do a lot of things with a mora, but I get a little nervous when it comes to that.

The scissors are nice for personal grooming, cutting moleskins for blisters, first aid, etc...

This PS4 looks promising!

I used to carry a squirt, but realize the pliers are very limited when I was stuck out in the woods when my sons rear wheel was bent on his bike. It just did not have enough leverage to get the bolt off. Thank God he had a full size multi tool on him. The mini saw looks useless. I think you would spend to much time trying to make it work, when you can just baton the Izula you are carrying

you gotta be joking.

i use the scissors on my wave almost as much as the main blade.

I find the scissors so useful that my Squirt is an S4 - not a bad wee tool and the scissors are pretty good (much better than the ones on my Wave or SAK).
