Modify your Opinel to handle better

Flattening the sides and smoothing the back end of the handle spine, plus putting a sharp toothy edge on your Opinel

An example this Opinel #8 with Padauk wood handle, I modded this one to have flat sides which makes this MUCH nicer to handle in use, less rolling in the hand from the original round handle.

and the top end of the handle usually curves up, which doesn't help much for me, so I ground that down and rounded it a bit and that made it also more handy.

You need 5 or 6. Great knives in several sizes. Plus, a great price point on them so can leave them in the truck, gift as needed, etc, etc.

And, now you can have Gary nicely mod one for you on top of it all. Seriously, you need a couple of them.

Excellent cutters, mine is used mainly for food and it’s so light it’s easy to carry
