I'm looking at buying an old stock, new, Muela Husky, at my local Home Hardware, at a discount.

It is etched Molybdenum-Vanadium, and my internet research tells me it's "MOVA 60” (X60CrMoV15)..............or possibly X50CrMoV15.

I am used to KaBar, ESEE & Mora 1095 CS, Mora Sandvik 12C27 SS, and Portland, Oregon made Gerber folders in 420HC? SS.

What can I expect for ease of sharpening, and edge retention, from the Muela?

X50 (4116) is essentially 420HC. I'm not familiar with X60, but it sounds like just a tiny touch more carbon. Either way, I agree with jpm2 that it should be very similar to what you're used to (assuming a similar quality heat treat by Muela).

Muela's knives and steels are very close to 440B, like Nieto's AN58, well heat treated.
Soft, non-chippy, very easy to sharpen, great rust resistance

Thanks guys, but.......
The chart notes say, ".................but apparently to avoid issues with abusive users and lower production costs, steel is kept soft. Quite stain resistant, other than that not much to speak of in terms of edge holding." I cannot imagine that the edge retention is anywhere near my BK9, based on that comment. I had a Cold Steel Spike that sharpened up very nicely, but didn't hold an edge. It was 4116. My Gerber folders hold the edge much longer. I'm hoping to hear from a Muela owner.

If I'm not mistaken, you already have I think I've seen that peaceant has a few.

I do, own 4 owned 10.
Steel is not as edge.holder as my 3 KaBars (all 1095 Cro-Van) but will sharpen up quick and I've never had a Muela rust on me, even after using them on the French Pyrenees under the rain and on those rivers, leaving it wet for hours on occasion.

their construction is 9/10 times peened or not full tang, so they won't stand up to abuse like the Beckers, Ontario SP, ESEE or TOPS
