As a younger lad I loved the black handle, regardless of material.

NO MORE, I SAY!!!

Seriously, color is easily added to any synthetic handle material. Isn't black the most difficult to produce, yet the least expensive in most cases??? I may be wrong (and I probably am).

I just want some color in handles, and I don't want to pay $30 (or more) extra for a soak in a tub of dye, or a drop of different coloring. Is that too much to ask?

Yeah, I know. I'm a douche' bag.

I'm glad you said it...

There are plenty of weird colors out there. Spyderco makes a lot of different colors, WE Knife is a Rainbow Factory (Although they chilled out a bit recently.) So yes, plenty of colors available, not to mention custom scales, custom knives and if you can deal with FRN/G10, just get Rit Dye and make your own (or learn to anodize)
I like Blue and Bronze the Most, although heavily leaning towards Bronze.

There are a lot of knives out there with colors. Especially if you go for custom or smaller batches, say like CPK or something.

Let me say this about that :
I ordered an ORANGE HAP-40 Delica just to get the blade out of it and . . . .
. . .
put the blade in my black FRN Delica handle.
Any questions ?

From afar . . . meaning looking at them in the chat room and online catalogs I just couldn't stand orange knives. Once I got the burnt orange delica in hand it started to grow on me and I didn't hate it.
And I fully apreciate how orange is WAY easier to see and find if one drops the knife in a creek or in the woods.
But I like the black and the British Green FRN sooooooooo much more than the orange I may never actually carry the orange one even though I did put the VG-10 blade in it.

Black is #1 for me, green is great as long as it is really dark or mostly black with a hint of green.
Dark blue works.
Anything else would have to be a just perfect example such as Boker's deep red died smooth bone.

I am quite basic when it comes to colours.
I usually prefer to go for black or plain titanium.
But as you described it I am now going into colours ;)
Red, blue, OD, tan are now as well accepted as black for me

Still not a fan of orange but why not a yellow Spyderco salt soon?

I can appreciate certain colors and/or accents on folders and fixed, including 'use specific'
knives, such as the Hi-vis colors.
:) I like orange ! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I really like Orange, as well,
but I can't stand to see the 'Sacred' Spydie Hole invaded with zip ties  ...Ugh
B.T.B.

I am a fan of any color and try to avoid black. I work in an office environment so any color that makes my knives to look funny items instead of black weapons of mass destruction is very welcome.

Going the other route (trying to to unnoticed) will not work because I use them at lunch with my cooworkers.

Also, if I were to drop it while in the mountains or while diving/kayaking/staying-at-the-beach, bright colors are much easier to find.

(The actual color is a little more subdued - ordinarily, I would have deleted this image because of the color discrepancy; but it worked with my reason for posting)
