Most Comfortable Fixed Blade EDC

I have been carrying a fixed blade for my edc lately. The trick was to find a knife/sheath combination that allowed me to carry a substantial knife. The rig had to have a knife capable of taking care of almost anything that comes up but still be able to conceal and ride comfortably. I dont want my edc to poke me or bother me at all when I am sitting in a movie theater or restaurant.
So, what I have settled on right now is a Rat 4 that I already had. It had the old style sheath that was kydex with a nylon backer. It was a nice sheath for woods carry but hung too low to carry around town. So I bought a new ESEE sheath with a belt clip. This positions the knife high enough to be discreet and holds it securely. The knife has micarta scales that feel good in my hand but are not bulky. Even riding high this setup does not dig into my side or anything. I was surprised that I could actually forget the knife was there.
Here are a few pics of the knife and the sheaths.

So my question to you is, what fixed blade setup have you found to work well as an edc?

I think my BlindHorseKnives Bushbabies are first uncles to the L.T. Wright Co. and the Battle Horse Knife Co.. All are good knives. I have no special source for these sheathes; they came with the knives...

I like this particular D-ring with Dangler sheath at the top; fits my pocket nicely with a lanyard to yank on...

This carry is quite discrete but practical...

...and much less "public" than this method of carry...

and more stable than this "buried sheath" method...

I won't even begin to attempt to carry a fixed blade in the horizontal position, although some folks certainly do. Although my t-shirt is always pulled down over my Levis waist-line, there is no way that I can keep that darned sheathed knife from printing.

That is a nice looking set up. It would be easier to carry with just a t shirt than my rig. I like to carry a SAK in my pocket as well.

I have two Battle Horse Knives that I like very much. Those little blades of yours are very cool.

that very nice

I tend to go a bit smaller than the rat 4. I usually go with a bk14 but at times an izula 2 or a rat 3. A small fixed blade and a multitool is my around the town knife Edc.

rat 3

Paracord through the rivet holes, between my belt and pants. Never even know it's there.

Protip: Lace the paracord loosely so that the knife can shift with you when you change positions.

They might not look as pretty as other knives but the Hultafors and Mora ranges are designed as tools to be used as long as necessary.

Inexpensive as well.

The 2 fixed blades that I carry most often are a Bradford G3, and a Spyderco MT19. If carried on my belt, horizontal kydex at 11 o'clock.
If pocket carried, leather pocket sheath with about an inch and half of the handle exposed. I don't worry about printing or having them visible because knives are considered tools in this part of the country.

Pocket sheath with money clip is absolutely fantastic. I love this setup but it is for small knives. If I ever want more blade I will carry one of the four others around the neck with their dedicated sheath. The Mini Bowie from Fred Perrin (4 starting from above) is a favorite. I carry it almost constantly and it's so light I forget it's even there... The Becker d'Eskabar is the strongest and the Blackjack is an excellent "do it all" knife, although on the light and small side (compared to the Becker !).

I normally carry my fb openly (state law), but on rare occasions I carry concealed to avoid "issues" (bank, movie theater, etc).

When carrying concealed, if it's short-term I will use an IWB sheath (under a shirt if I'm not wearing a jacket). But if it's long-term, if I'm going to be doing a lot of sitting, and if I'm going to be wearing a jacket, then I use a shoulder rig (pictured below). I made it myself several years ago. It's fully adjustable and very comfortable. Not only can I adjust it to fit my body, but I can also adjust the angle of the knife as it hangs under my arm.

For the record, carrying a concealed fb is illegal where I live, but I know the risks, and the consequences if caught, and I have chosen to accept them. But by no means do I encourage others to violate their local knife laws. Of course, how one chooses to carry their knife is entirely their own decision.

You wouldn't happen to have a tutorial up on how to make myself one of those shoulder rigs, now would you? And maybe some pictures of you wearing it? :D
