Mother of Pearl Knives

Just wondering about mother of pearl knives I don't see too many of them. I only see case knives that are readily available.

Mother of pearl looks amazing for a gentlemen's folder but are there any other options other than the case knives?

But which mother of pearl case knife would you guys recommend?

I know I have come across a few MOP covered tang straights like this one.
 
Check out Frank Buster's German "Fight'n Roosters" from the '80s and early '90s. They generally have some of the finest pearl I've encountered in terms of quality, hafting and polishing, and their pattern selection is diverse, to say the least. It's been said many times that no one produces a pearl handled production knife like those from the Carl Aug Meis and Friedrich Olbertz factory in Solingen. They're right up there with many custom pearl knives. Fight'n Roosters are readily available at the big auction site, and while the prices have been climbing for a while, they're still competitive with Case's pearl prices.

I regularly carry a Spyderco Kopa with Gold-lip Pearl. It is a beatiful material, but quite delicate. I've got a decent-sized chip out of my knife that breaks my heart.:( Still, it's worth the extra $$$ to find a nice one to use as pocket jewelry. I actually have mine on me right now. No smart phone to take a pic, though...
 
If you go to AG Russell's website you can find quite a few different types of knives with MOP handle scales. You can always look into a custom made with MOP scales.

GEC (Great Eastern Cutlery) has a few using "Looking Glass Pearl". GEC uses a sheet of pearl and then covers it with acrylic making it very strong. Here is a #66 Serpentine Jack and a #48 Dogleg Jack in BLP.

Yes, that is a beauty! I remember two or three years ago I have seen balisongs from him in similar style - was VERY impressed!
