Msk-1

I have seen that guy's YT videos; mostly commercial like reviews without a lot of substance regarding actual skills. At least the videos I have seen.

You got to love those superlatives! The Ultimate.....

When I saw it and it was him I almost turned it off assuming it would be gimmicky but it seems decent, usa made and d2 steel but I dunno about $500 for everything but that's me

At a 1/4" thick, with that very small saber grind, I don't know that it will cut very well. It looks like it can be safely bludgeoned through things without breaking which seems to be an important survival knife feature to some. The blade profile reminds me of the old KaBar warthog which I always liked.

Looks like the Kabar Warthog,my thought exactly.

Also looks very reminiscent of the Ontario RD4...im not sure i would buy this knife, but then again, i doubt that the people supporting his campaign are "knife" people.

Yeah I've seen a few of his YT videos as well. He's okay. More of a gear reviewer than "survival tips". The knife and the whole system actually doesn't look too bad. I'd want something with a little more blade length though as my only-option "survival knife" like my Blackheart Gunner 12.

A lot of cool ideas, I've wondered why no one else has done a steel or brass insert for the bow drill pivot. Cool shape, but like others have said, super thick! I wonder how much thinner and taller of a grind you could get with CPM-3V?

way to out there for my uses, it would get left at home.

Love that fact that that one knife (with everything in it) will get me through the rest of my life if the world falls apart.

Is this the guy from You-Tube that I saw "teaching" people how to kill a deer in a survival situation by digging a hole, laying in it with a spear, and waiting for a deer to walk over him so that he could surprise it and stab it from underneath???

If that is true, I need to find that, that sounds awesome! (If not at all practical)

Lot of money for a D2 steel knife, with ruggedness and toughness in mind, D2 would not be my initial choice. Many quality knives, even some hand made offerings are a plenty on the forums here. For that kind of money you could find something much more reasonable, get the same and exceeded performance and spend the rest of the money on other essential gear items (to include the $2-$3 worth of hooks and fishing line, lol).

Sarcasm? Seriously asking because all I see is an over priced pos knife with some hard to get at "feel good" trinkets.

Choils are an abomination on small knives. It limits the amount of force you can get on a reverse chest lever grip. Among others. The grind is shallow for a thick knife like this as tknife pointed out. Only good for bashing it through things and not even all that well. D2 is a good steel for some things but I've found it lacking in this roll. Harder to sharpen on found sharpeners and it has a gritty feel while carving. 1095 is a better choice. Who carries quarters anymore? How maddening would it be to have all those, however cheap and limited in scope they are, survival goodies right in your hand but out of reach because there was no screwdriver? A nylon pouch on your sheath is a WAY better way to go. The bow drill divot I just don't get. I don't know about you but I don't want my razor sharp knife flung about from a bow drill slipping. Of course that's probably of no concern to the buyers of these types of knives because I doubt they're the type to maintain an edge. All my opinion of course but based on knives with similar design flaws.

In my next post I'll tell you how I really feel. :D
