As most of you know I'm a climber/hiker. My Bil and I are hiking the 90 mile section of the AT across NY. 10-20 miles at a time. Working class stiffs can't afford to take off weeks at a time so we are doing it as we can. I lost my Sweet 16 early this summer on the brutal Devils Path climb :( But my new 16 is on its maiden journey for this hike.
Not much commentary just pics from start to finish. This section was 12.2 miles Hope you enjoy.
Sign in with my Beckerhead Number:thumbsup: Letting everybody know that one of Ethans blades is in the woods.

Time to filter some water with my Grayl press filter. I absolutely love this filter.

Lunch break and foot maintenance. I didn't do much with my new 16. It hung off my pack, posed for pics and opened my mint chocolate chip dehydrated ice cream. But I must say that the 16 excelled. It's quite the ham and really enjoyed the photo opportunities

How could I not take a picture of this mushroom. One ray of sunlight thru the canopy.

Right on Tanker! Thanks for the Awesome Pics  Outer Space Mint Chocolate Ice Cream how cool is that :D

Good stuff tanker. Love seeing pics of the AT. Super jealous since I couldn’t get out anywhere this summer, but I’ll gladly walk the trails vicariously thru you lol. Thanks for sharing.

My Pleasure and Thanks for all the kind words. 2 days after a climb is when my age shows and the pain sets in. Thanks for the motivation Brothers

It is always great to see people exploring the real New York State. If you have never visited Upstate New York, this is what 75% of the state looks like. Great photos, thanks for sharing your journey and good luck.
Thank you OKB. I am born and raised in Florida. And the picture I always had in my mind was of the city. The first time my girlfriend now wife drove me up to Bear Mountain I was completely blown away. That summer I camped at a place called Woodland Valley by the town of Phoenicia. The trailhead for Mount Whittenberg was there so I climbed to the 3500 ft peak and looked out over the Catskills and the Ashokan Reservoir. I haven't stopped climbing.

Have looked at properties in upper NY. Have been through NY a few times. Most people think of New York City when they think of New York, and don't realize how beautiful the state is.

Hey, you got my socks, give them back. Darn Tough Light Hikers good choice. Just finished 3 days on the AT also, Peters Mountain to Swatara Park. Nice pics. Lots of flooding evidence here.
