Does anybody own a Mueller scope? I'm considering buying either a APV 4.5-14X40AO or an APT to put on a .243. I know the APT is tactical but it's also more money.

Can anybody give me a honest review on Muellers?

They have a good reputation in the 22 rimfire community. They are imported from China. The APT is mil dot with 1/4 MOA turrets. You would have to convert milradian to MOA when making adjustments. Also the APV has covered knobs while the APT has exposed knobs. I'm not sure how they hold up on centerfire rifles. Take a look at Nikon in that price range. SWFA SS fixed power are what I prefer but they are a little more.

Well I don't know about their scopes but my brother uses a Quick Shot on his shotgun [slug barrel] and loves it. The Quick Shot resembles an EOTech of sorts and he's always hit what he's aimed at....to within 1" of POA.

I have one on my CZ in 22LR. I believe they are perfectly strong for center fire. It is a big scope and you may have to mount it a little higher to clear the barrel.

Have 3: 8.5×25, 8×32 & Red dot. Have used the scopes on CZ .22 rifles and the reflex on a Ruger Target for over a year. I shoot target only, scoring for ammo accuracy.

IMHO Mueller optics are the finest value for their price. I have never been tempted to move to another brand and have recommended them repeeatedly to fellow gun club members.

The red dot lost its auto brightness capability. Took advantage of Mueller lifetime warranty. Sent to Michigan on a Thursday before a holiday weekend. Next Wednesday, had a brand new unit delivered to my door.

Unqualified two thumbs up!!!

That's the 2nd excellent recommendation I've gotten on them. One was from a dude who manages a shooting range. Thanks everybody.

Like many things, you get what you pay for. Chinese made optics seem to have improved over the years, so you pays your money and takes your chances.

I bought a Mueller hi magnification scope online based on reviews but was not impressed and returned it. I went to a gun show and looked through every scope I could find, and was most impressed with a Hawke Sport Optics, which I then found online at a place with a planet-full of optics for about the same as the Mueller. I ordered it and it has been fantastic for the past 1500 rounds on my 308. Exceptional clarity for the price, or 3x the price.

I just sighted in a 4.5-14x40 APT on my chopped and threaded CZ 452 Varmint last weekend so take it for what it's worth being a rimfire. In my opinion, the glass is very clear with bright picture. The turrets are very positive in their adjustments also.

I chose the APT over the APV because I prefer a mil-dot reticle. I'm aware that I don't use the mil-dots in the manner they are intended, but I do use them for reference as most of my shooting is up to 50 yards with the occasional reach out to up to 100. The only thing I noticed was that the AO markings seemed to be a little off, but not a huge deal. Maybe it's my eyes or something. I'm quite pleased with my purchase so far.
