Interested to know what the favourate EDC multi-tool/s are for anyone working as a plumber, or any other trade for that matter?

I used to work as a landscaper and would carry a Pulse. I liked the locking tools, as many times working on machines I needed to work at odd angles. I have no doubt that the locks saved me from beating up my fingers or hands numerous times.

I've always been partial to the Super-Leatherman. Built like a tank, takes a beating and lasts forever.

OK. . .I've yet to prove the "forever" part. :p ;)

There are so many nice multi-tools on the market. . .and unless you purchase some cheapo knock-off. . .it's hard to go wrong.

If you're looking to purchase one. . .there are plenty of stores that have display models that you can play with. :)

I do a little of everything and my EDC at work is the Schrade ST5E with adjustable plier jaws. I've carried other multi's at work but the adjustable pliers have saved me allot of trips up/down stairs for another tool.

I've nearly always got a Leatherman Wave on my belt. Now that I spend more time in the garden (serious gardening / landscaping) and my knife workshop, it is used all the time. The main blade (locking) and the wood saw, bigger screwdriver and litle scissors all get a regular workout.

I can't really compare with any other tools since thats the one I got 2 years ago as a gift. But then again its lasted me really well all this time. When I go on holiday trips I keep my trusty SAK in the car - thats only because it has a corkscrew for those pesky wine bottles (Australia has some of the finest wineries in the world, IMHO :D ) Jason.

Ditto what Jason said...I like the Wave because the knives can be deployed without opening the tool up, plus they lock in place.

Unfortunately the Wave only locks those outer blades. The Supertools and Pulse lock all blades, as does the SOG Powerlock, and I believe the Victorinox Swisstools, too. These all have extensive blade selections. The Pulse is a bit smaller and lighter than the others, though, almost as convenient as the Leatherman Juice line.

Oops! I just noticed: you're new here! Welcome to Bladeforums :D

Thanks for the welcome! I love my Leatherman multi-tools. Got all the classic range except the Flair (still to get). Just battling to decided which to keep on my daily. Currently my EDC is the Crunch, Supertool and Micra. Just curios to know what others carry daily.

I'm a Journeyman Millwright, and I carry and use a Leatherman Wave in a sheath from On Scene Tactical every day on the job. It is very convenient and reliable within it's limits.

I have found the Pulse to be perfect, I carry it everyday as a Industrial mechanic.

Its just thin enough and light enough to be easier to carry than the larger wave or my second favorite the Gerber 600.

I always carry my Leatherman SuperTool 200, whether at work or play. I'm a welder by trade, and I rely on this tough tool quite a bit, mainly using the pliers, wirecutters, and screwdrivers. I used to have the Wave, but to me the only advantages to having it were the easy access blades....the other tool blades not being able to lock were a big disappointment.

Prefer the old Supertool to the 200. Have both ST original and ST 200(collector) and not to crazy about the "slip unlock" method. The original just feels sturdier to me. I guess simpler and less to go wrong is my preference. Was never to phased about the handles not being rounded. Use mine plenty and never been bothered by it cutting into my hands.
