I have a question about this fixed blade hunting knife that I aquired a few years ago. I know that it is made in Brazil by, Mundial, but as yet have been able to find no information on it. The knife has a full tang and heavy stainless steel blade with a puma on the face. its overall length is 12 inches with a hardwood handle. any info would be appreciated.
thanks p.

Can you post a pic of the knife ?

I live in Brazil, and Flavio Duprat (my friend, gunsmith and knife sharpner and maker) now works for Mundial. With the pic, I can tell you for sure about your knife.

Take care,

Regards,

Andre Tiba - Brazil

I also own a knife like this and have the box that it came in. I states on the box that it is a Faca De Caca Cromoudur Hunting Knife and has the Mundial logo on the box. The ref is 651/6"-15 cm. I have taken a photo of it but I have to post it on a URL for this insert program it seems. I also cannot find any more information on this knife. It has been 26 years since I received this knife as a gift.

Wow It has been so long since I posted that that I have moved and had to dig it out of storage! Here is what I have found out about the one I own. As with yours it has the Mundial Cromodur Brazil and the leaping puma on the blade. On the reverse it has Banrisul Corretora, which is a Brazilian brokerage house. From what I gather this one was never sold to the public but was produced by Mundial for Banrisul as gifts or rewards for their investors. the estate sale that I purchased the knife from were at one time rice brokers and did business in South America.
