My first CRK, pinched washer?

First CRK - I just got my hands on a used Small Inkosi Insingo and I love it!

Anyway, took it apart put it back together, took it apart to clean again and noticed a snag in one of the brass looking disks the blade rides in.

Did I do this on accident? Can I sand this out or try flattening it? Or should I send it in? Or maybe it's not an issue?

I felt like the blade was off center leaning away from the locked side when I put it together the first time, so as I loosed it and tightened, it centered but was very hard to open, so I figured I'd clean it and add grease then felt this snag with my finger. Maybe it's not an issue at all?

It looks like the stop pin pinched it.
I would sand it out but I believe you can order replacement washers for the Inkosi if you would rather new.

Edit- If the stop pin was sitting on it that might explain the centering and tight action.

Looks like a washer may have been pinched at one point. If it's raised up a little, I would sand that side down some. But not anywhere else on the washer

The tolerances are so tight on these that if you take too much off you might end up with side to side blade play.
The inkosis go back together like a sandwich. You put the lockbar scale down with the bottom of the pivot in it, washer, blade, washer, show side scale, then thread the other side of the pivot in, don't tighten yet. Put scale hardware in, and tighten, then adjust the pivot. That is how I do it.

Enjoy your new knife Cuz!!

Yep stop pin pinched it. You have nothing to lose so I would remove the flattened portion as it wont be under the blade only resting on the pin. If you find it moves then order new.
And there is a great cleaning vid on the tube showing the Inkosi break down and clean. Might help.

Meh. I'd file that burr off with ceramic or even fine sand paper. Probably go back together like peanut butter and jelly.

Inkosis, unlike Sebenzas, don't need to be sent in for washers. And washers aren't expensive. I'd just buy a new set personally.
