I recently got 2 marbles machetes for some landscaping around the yard, a 12714 20" oal and a 12718 24" oal and the handles just weren't right. The rough fit was no big deal, but it was the shape itself that just didn't feel right in my hand.

I removed the drastic dip / curve in both, and gave them more of a hook at the back.
Next I gave both handles a cotton twine wrap which I then impregnated with beeswax.

They feel much better now, and was well worth the 20min spent on each handle.

Going to admit I didn't know Marbles was a manufacturer and opened the thread expecting to see some legit marbles set in a clear epoxy being used as a handle.

Thanks for the show and tell H&S. I may have to try one of those cotton twine wraps on a few of my yard tools like shovels and rakes as that seems like a damned good idea.

Thanks, and the handle wrap does feel pretty good. What I did was paint the hot wax onto the wrap then take a heat gun or hair dryer to it so it re melts and gets absorbed into the twine.
BTW this is sort of the same marbles that made the famous woodcraft and ideal fixed blade knives, they are now owned by someone else and while many products are Chinese these machetes and their forged axes are made in El Salvador by imicasa / condor.

Looks good Hickory n Steel. There is something about the orange blades from Marbles that is appealing to me. Beats ho hum black. I'm sticking with Condor machetes. But I might just pick up a Marbles to play with.
