My name is Gary...and I'm a Whittler Addict.....'Hi Gary'

This Rough Rider 375 arrived today, small whittler, main blade is like a modified wharncliff riding on two springs, then a coping blade and pen ride on their own spring, fit and finish were good, the blades could cut you if you were not careful and somewhat a fool, but, after some time on the stones, squealing a bit too which I take that means some hardness in there, they are all very sharp.

Closed about 3 1/4" long, main blade is about 2 1/8" long while the two smaller thinner blades run about 1 1/2" long.

rides comfortable in the watch pocket, there were some crisp edges on the bone which I sanded down to carry better, all in all, nice little folder.

I’m resurrecting this thread again because, well you know, who DOESN’T love a whittler huh?

I had to go through the collection again to pull all the whittlers out for a group photo, turns put I have 17 true whittlers and a few two bladers, with a few worthy of note here.

My favorite (right now anyway) is probably the Northwoods, the jigging is fantastic and the fit and finish top notch.

LOL Gary! Come on up to Nor-Cal, we’ll swap stories and talk knives!

One of my newer weaknesses is the Congress, 2 or 4 blade, especially in stag. I WISH i had your collection, i’ve seen you post some beauties!

Lol those WERE mine at one time, but most all are gone, I miss them all but in order to get new something has to go.
Sad but true, in fact I have my latest whittler up for sale now.

Bunch of us in NorCal, we need to all do a Meet n Greet some day.

Definitely, i think Auburn has an old town antique fleamarket street fair every fall, one year I found a very nice Case long tail “C” whittler, picked it up for the price of lunch, and sold it for a mint. And still regret it! LOL!

We should definitely set up a meet and greet and swap met!!! Where are you?
