My Super Karambit - Real or Fake?

I posted this over in the counterfeit thread that Ernest Emerson started, but got no replies so I'll try here. I recently purchased this used super karambit off of ebay. Besides the terrible front/back blade play, I am very suspect of the liners. This is my 3rd super karambit and I've never seen liners like these before. Can someone chime in about this, please? Thanks!!!!

Have you taken it apart yet? Perhaps the carbonfiber looking part is just some stickers stuck in there? Blade slop could be a worn out lock. I don't own one, never had. Looks like a legit older one to me but I never owned one.

Did not Mr. Ernie just post some photo of some FAKE Emerson's he was aware of???

Yep, and the one in the OP pics looks nothing like the one Mr. E posted here. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1261112-Emerson-asks-for-your-help

Note the scale screws, pattern for the clip, opener hole and plunge line to name a few. The one Ernie posted is a lot different.

If you look close here, http://emersonknives.com/shop/karambit-the-knives/super-karambit-bt/ you can see the detent ball track showing in front of the handle.

I left them a message through their website yesterday, but haven't heard back from them.

Did you send the pics in the email also?

If not maybe try resending with the pics attached. You could give them a call too. Very friendly folks IME.

It looks fine to me. The detent hole and part of the track is also visible on mine. Try taking it apart and clean it up a bit, then make sure everything lines up when you put it back together, that might fix your vertical bladeplay. Also try rotating the stop pin, my guess is that it's been waved a lot. Hard to resist with the Karambits.
