I did post some of these 2 years ago, but now have added a couple more.
I'd like to know if there are any other patterns besides these:

3 3/8" 2 blade Jack: Camillus/882/U.S.A.
hornetholley005-12.jpg

3 5/8" Stockman: Camillus/883/U.S.A. note Clip blades are not identical
hornetholley006-11.jpg

3 7/8" Stockman: 884 this one has handle rivets & only "884" on back tang so i think it is from the 2nd run ?
hornetholley007-8.jpg

3 5/8" LB: Camillus/885/U.S.A.
hornetholley008-9.jpg

5" LB: Camillus/886/U.S.A.
hornetholley010-7.jpg

3 1/4" LB: 887 also 2nd run ?

any comments/info as to yrs/production runs/etc. will be much appreciated.
and are there any others in thi Woodcraft series ?
thanks, eh, roland

Your answer lies in the original catalogs like the one from 1996 Here. Woodcrafts are on page 9 of that one and seven are shown.

Seven are shown also in the 1994 catalog

I never tire of seeing your pictures of Camillus knives. Thanks!

Thank you Michael. i see there is also an 881, a Pen knife, so i will be looking for that one.
both the '94 & '96 catalogues show these with handle rivets and list a "B" after each pattern # e.g. 882B, etc. none of mine have a "B". also i think the ones with no handle rivets were produced before those with handle rivets.
i cannot locate these in a catalogue, but my loading of these is slow so i have not viewed them all.

Just found the no rivet ones: 1988 flyer & 1990 catalogue.
these are some of what i think are the best made Camillus knives i own of the post WWII -2007 time period.

Twice the knife
For half the price!!!:thumbup::D:eek:

What kind of wood is it?
I'm still weak in my handle materials identification techniques...
Rosewood?

Other wood handled knives in the catalog are described as rosewood. This series is just "laminated hardwood". I imagine both are impregnated woods like the knives they made for Sears during this same time period.

Nice Job again Codger!!

Best as I can remember it was introduced in '95 or '96.

After a couple of years, they were changed & made without any handle rivets, (wood was bonded on,).

As you can see, this is the Craftsman 95313. I bought several of these clampacks when Sears was closing them out in 2004-05

Same knives, nickel silver bolsters, thicker wood of 2 layered colors was used on woodcraft.

The '96 & '96 catalogues state :"Laminated Hardwood Handles".
my 884 "Orvis" stockman is not laminated and looks like Walnut ??

The wood scales on these are really nice. Still like it when they put a shield on.

Yes, Vit's contributions to the Camillus legacy can't really be measured accurately. But that can be said of more than a few of you here, one way or the other.

Mine doesn't have the pins and the tang stamp reads Camillus stainless usa 883. Is that before the sword brand ?
