Mods, please feel free to move this as I can’t find “Gadgets” anymore.

So I received the Nalpak case yesterday. All 12 moderns fit perfectly, as do the 9 traditionals.

The big difference between the Nalpak foam and the Pelican pick & pluck is that the Nalpak is unbelievably more firm. It’s also resistant to a plethora of chemicals whereas the Pelican foam will become deformed and eventually deteriorate.

Here’s some pics…

If you have a 1300 laying around you can purchase just the foam.

I finally reclaimed a drawer.

I have the 40 slots model and I confirm it is a great option for knife storage.... and you finally have a place where to put your knives stickers ;)

What’s about to happen to this new case will be able to be found in the “Everyone’s Latest Acquisitions”. I’m going on a tear.

Good to know, I'm in need of something so I'll check this out. 👍
There’s an easy mod to make the Pelican 1300 airtight. I don’t find the need in it since we have an Aprilaire whole home humidifier/dehumidifier installed in our home. We keep it set at 42% RH with a constant temperature of 68 degrees year around.

They’re definitely extremely water tight as I have 3 of them on my Honda Rancher which has been submerged to the seat more times than I care to remember. Nary a drop of water in any of them.

EDITED TO ADD: I keep 3 rechargeable desiccant packs in mine. I pop them in the microwave for 30-45 seconds about once a month just to be safe.

There is thing thing called a safe. It works well for keeping thieves out. These cases fit easily in a safe...

Not in my safe which is a 7ft tall/800# safe that currently holds around 20 handguns, 12 rifles/shotguns and 250 knives plus a couple of AR15 uppers, a couple of jewelry boxes and important "records."

No room for anything else. Really need a bigger safe but then I'd just fill it up w/more "stuff." LOL! ;)

PS: I do have a case like that that I bought at Harbor Freight that I use to "store" my 1980's "vintage" SW Model 41 plus 5 barrels and a set of barrel weights for the 7 3/8" barrel but it also will NOT fit in my safe. Have it locked up elsewhere.

It's worth a lot of $ and you seldom see the pieces together and it took me a LONG TIME to put it all together.

Wait you care about things other than knives?!? Scary.
