It's phosphoric acid in a gel. This acid is fairly mild and in a gel it's good to remove light rust.

Used it all the time when I was a kid. It works pretty well on light rust.

I used it to de-rustify an old motorcycle gas tank once. Works perfectly as long as you keep it of the paint.

Naval Jelly eats the rust off, Turtle Wax Chrome POLISH, removes light rust by polishing it out.

What is it you need to clean?

For chrome, 'Solvol Autosol' is difficult to beat. It is a white cream in a tube.

+1 to that. Always worth a shot on tired looking chrome. Nothing else touches it. May take a couple of applications and lots of elbow grease but stood me in good stead when I was restoring old bikes.
