I'm headed down to Statesville / Charlotte / Hickory, NC for a few days. Any decent knife shops in or around that area?

Thanks,

Mike

Hello sgt. I live in Hickory, NC. As far as I know, there are no knife shops in the area. I either go to shows, or buy through the net. There used to be an old gent at the flea market that had some neat knives, but I have not seen him in years.

There are none that I know of. There is the famous Beck's Cutlery in Cary, NC that is worth a drive out there, as they've got an impressive selection of factory and handmade stuff. Then there is a new knife shop that opened up in Lewisville, NC (just right outside of the Winston-Salem city limits) that carries a great selection of Buck and Case. Two weeks ago went I went there, they are adding a bit of CRKT to their inventory.

I might add there is a knife retailer based in Charlotte but they only exhibit at the gun show there and won't do business during non-show times.

Dexter,

Can you please get some more info on the other shop outside of W-S for me? That's pretty close and I can sneak through there on the way home without my gf knowing any better.

There is The Knife Shop in Ft. Mill, SC, which is just south of Charlotte off I-77.
Exit hwy 160 and turn left off the ramp It will be marked the Ft. Mill exit. Proceed into town and turn left onto Main street. Go about 1.5 blocks and you can't miss it on the right. BTW, Ft Mill is a tiny town and Main St is only about 3 blocks long. The whole trip should take 15-20 minutes from downtown Charlotte. This is an old time shop with sharpening services. It is a step back into the 50ies and is worth the trip even if you do not buy anything. They have most current Spydie, Ka-Bar and Benchmade brands. They are on Benchmade's brick and morter automatic order system for anything new. Go in, drink a Sun Drop, ans soak up some great southern flavor! Lemme know when you are coming and I'll stop by if I can.
