I was in the local surplus store the other day and saw the Nebo flashights on display. The single AA LED was about eight dollars. The top of the line "CSI" model was about thirty five. It featured white, green and UV capability along with a laser pointer.

Has anyone tried these and are they worth the money?

The website is www.nebotools.com

I don't know anything about the flashlights, but their Wordlock is pretty cool. Now back to the OP's topic... ;)

Looks like some interesting ideas. I have never seen them before. I am seriously considering picking up the Grip-All.

I don't know about any nebo single aa. To me the CSI seems to be more gimmick than anything, but then again, I haven't used one. I do, however have one of their redline flashlights. It is the best flashlight I have ever used. Within the next couple of days, I plan on doing a review on it, here and on the edcf (now that I've had it about a month).

I had one of the 3 aaa models with light and laser. The light wasnt that good, but the laser was AMAZING.

I think I will pick up a single AA and try it out. Same price as the original Mag Lite no great loss if it is a chunk of junk. Might be a good Xmas party gift for the non knife and gear types at the office

last weekend I saw the redline at a woodworking shop and considered buying it until I figured out you have to cycle through all 5 modes every time you use it.
didn't like that.
ended up with a highbeam for each vehicle instead.

I have several Nebos and they are great flashlights. I've found them to be quite bright with a long battery life. They are also great value for the money. They only thing I dislike about them is that you do have to click through all of the modes in order to turn on or off and to find the mode you want each time as has already been said, since I use a flashlight only as a flashlight I could do without the different modes. Also keep in mind that they are a good value for the money but are in no way a cheap SureFire substitute.

The single AA light doesn't have any modes. Just on and off. The button glows in the dark, for a while. That's kinda cool. The crenelated bezel is very sharp -- if you want to carry it in your pocket you'll probably have to take the edge off it a little. The model that doesn't come with a clip isn't quite as sharp, but even that one could be pretty hazardous for pocket carry if you don't blunt it.
