Need advise on Danner's customer service

Hello guys. In one of my earlier thread, I've mentioned that I'm looking at buying a pair of boot zipper inserts for my new Acadia.

After looking thru the web and their (Danner) site, I emailed them to confirm if the inserts are made of leather instead of PVC like the generic ones on ebay.

I received confirmation that they are made from excess leather from their boots.

Proceed to order a pair and paid for with my credit card.

However, when the inserts arrived 4 days ago, I discovered that they are made of PVC. Should have just bought of ebay for $6 instead of paying $35 for them. Anyway, I've emailed Danner for clarifications. No answers yet. Will call them long-distance if I still do not receive an answer in 2 days.

What do you guys advise?

I hope they just got a little mixed up and sent you the wrong kind. Please let us know how it comes out.
 
Update:

Got a mail from them saying that they've called their factory and should get an answer on that day (9 August). No email.

Called the particular person-in-charge on the phone. Couldn't get him. Left a voice mail.

Still no reply as of now.
 
Update....

Emailed and called the particular person without getting him on the phone and any email reply at all.

Call customer service and got a guy called Phil. Was confirmed by him that their zipper inserts were definately made of leather and he'll send me another pair free -of-charge.

Let's see what happens now.....
 
Just got the leather ones today.

Danner has come thru and send me a pair F.O.C as mentioned. These are much thicker, stronger and better built than their current "upgraded" PVC version. Seems that the "upgrade" is so new that not all staff knows about it.

Althought it takes some patience calling them ($$ for my long distance calls), but they came thru eventually.

In the meantime, I'm also looking at a pair of Desert Acadia.... :D The uninsulated Acadia is fantasic! Best pair of boots I ever owned!

Edit: I'm a horrible speller....
