Hey there Gents

Need yall help finding a special knife for a special someone.
This person absolutely loves hand engraved knives and mirror polished blades.
Can be a production "custom", semi-custom or even a knife that was customized.
Preferably new or like new condition, and of course, has to be obtainable, not something cool that sold 2 years ago but is out of stock today.
Budget is appropriately matched for a custom/custom.

Thanks in advance fellas!!!

Nordic have an absolutely beautiful Steve Johnson with Big Horn Sheep scales.........

If you are unfamiliar with his work he is one of the best fixed blade makers in the world. A protege of Bob Loveless and his work is collected and sought after the world over.

A real heirloom......... :)

Dont want to quote a number because broke boyz are going to start crying about how ridiculous it is that someone makes more money than them....I mean that someone would spend that much on a knife.

Thanks in advance fellas!!!
You'd probably get even more responses if you didn't choose to start off with a dismissive remark right off the bat.

There are plenty of well heeled, polite members here on this site, as well as very knowledgeable members who may not be quite as fortunate as some but have a great deal of useful information to share.

I would edit that piece about "broke boyz" out so you don't sound like a dick and so that we can help you find knives in the right price range. You are in a pretty safe space for expensive knives and most of us won't be shocked by any number.

Also, is this intended to be a display piece only or will it be carried and used occasionally?

I took this picture at a knife show in 2020 because the piece on the far right impressed me.

She has a website and you would probably have to supply the knife. Kimberly is the daughter of custom knife maker, Ray Cover.

Oddly enough, I was just thinking of Ray Cover last night. I have a few of his pieces and it's been a long time since I've last spoken with him, or heard news of him. I hope he is well.

Not to be a dick, but I believe the title of the thread says "Folder". ☺️

I spoke with him the day that I took that picture which was 5 1/2 years ago. He seemed well and healthy then but I haven't heard anything about him since. He did tell me that he had about 20 blades on hand at that time and as soon he finished making knives out of them, he planned to retire from knife making. I also hope he is doing well. Good guy.

If that's the case this person probably already has preferences for brands/styles/makers. What are they?

I know if someone got a knife for me that they thought was nice but I couldn't stand I'd politely thank them and then pack it away never to see the light of day.

From what I hear the ZDP blades will chip an edge if you cut on a ceramic plate but the yxr7 blades will probably just chip the ceramic plate if you use yxr7 to cut on a ceramic plate as the yxr7 is very tough but more prone to corrosion so it needs to be oiled.
