I've been carrying the Kershaw Funxion EMT for many years as my EDC. I am very motivated to get a higher quality, USA made knife but I'm having a hard time finding what I'm looking for. I've seen some knives that are close like

Trauma First Response Tool: 3.4" Sheepsfoot Blade (Partially Serrated) - Black Cerakote Finish, Solid Black G10 Frame

I need a knife with these specs:
Smaller/short in general
tanto style blade
partial serration
spring assisted or auto
glass breaker
razor cutter

I greatly appreciate any guidance. Budget is not a factor in this for me.

Where do you foresee the benefit of a tanto blade shape on a knife of that sort?

The reason I ask about blade shape is because that’s very limiting. Most emergency knives that that have a sheepsfoot or rounded tip since penetration is not generally needed and it’s easier to cut away clothing without stabbing the person you want to save. Tanto on a rescue knife limits the options a lot.

Edit to add: what do you mean “razor cutter?” Do you mean a strap cutting feature?

I should add that none of the knives you posted above are tanto blades. Even the Fox knife that calls itself a tanto is really more like a very angular spear point. The tip is way lower than a tanto would be.

I'll make sure to do that next time I'm on scene. Thanks for the tip.

Get any Tanto you like and ask one of the makers here (Josh or David?) to grind in serrations for you. I'd get a Hinderer Tanto or Spanto, but I'm partial :)

BTW, in my opinion partial serrations in the front of the blade are more useful.

Thank you all so much for the guidance, especially with this being my first post. I should clarify, that I wanted a tanto edge for the other uses of cutting, boxes, self defense, etc. I don't plan on using a tanto and serration for rescuing. I wanted to "rescue" for strap cutting and glass breaking.

When I wanted a rescue knife, I went with the Benchmade Triage. I have several most have the blade with the tip made for prying. They are really nice.

Mine are all 916’s I think you’d like a 916 with sheepsfoot.

As soon as an accident victim sees you whip out a tanto their health goes up to 100% & they self rescue.

Problem solved.
That's as bad as an old paramedic, who worked in Gastown, Vancouver for years (when there were lots of drunks to deal with). He carried a huge cow needle and held it in front of them to see if they were faking it for a spa day at the hospital. If they didn't make a run for it, they really did need help.

If you are looking for a really useful rescue knife, my suggestion is to try models that focus on rescue rather than such tactical versions. it is a disadvantage for a first responder knife to have such a sharp tip. I suggest you look at these models, but I don't know if they are made in the USA. I think Gerber was.
Gerber Hinderer Rescue Red( red is a psychologically comforting colour)
Spyderco Assist
Coast dx335
Schrade SCHA911R
I have used them all, my personal favourite is gerber hinderer

I like the victorinox rescue tool. But it doesn't have half of those features.

But I will have a look and see what I can find.

I know a marshal that used to do that at the race track. After a crash they'd go up to the rider if they didn't bounce up right away and pull out a Buck and say he was going to cut their leathers off. See if that would spark a recovery.

Böker Rescue OTF

Microtech HS rescue?

You don’t really want to be poking the people you’re trying to help.

Are there any tactical or self defense knives that also have the razor attachment for seat belt cutting? And a glass breaker, or maybe with an angled pommel that can be used to break glass?
