ok i was gonna make a new knife that was modeled after the puma white hunter, with some changes of course.

but the thing was, i couldnt get a block of metal to make a guard so the idea was scrapped until now............

BEHOLD, http://www.clinchmountainoutfitters.com/images 2/PU118375.jpg thats the url for a picture of a puma whitehunter III!!!!!!!

it has no guards and is a lot less fancy but its still pretty hip.

what i was also thinking was , to take some antler for a handle, and take the end that has that crown thing that is what connects to the skull and use that as a guard. is this an ok idea? will it be strong? if not can i strenghthen it?????????????

this is an url for the other puma whitehunter that is not as plain : http://www.clinchmountainoutfitters.com/images 3/pu-116375a.jpg

Keep the crown on the butt end. I've used the crown as a guard but more for an accent, not for strength. You could always make a wooden guard. On a couple of my first knives I fitted a piece of wood right up on the blade and ground it out like a metal guard. You'll have a simple guard with durability(if you use a good piece of wood). And it can add a nice look to the overall knife.
