What's the story with the Civilian? I hear alot about it but have never seen one. Where can I see a pic of one? Who sells them? Are they primarily a defensive knife?

Thanks,

Art

The Civilian has a serratted recurve blade. It is like a melding of a clip point blade with a hawkbill blade. Pretty wicked looking to say the least. I think James Mattis at www.chaicutlery.com may have a picture of one.

The Civilian was or is sold with a plain or a serratted recurve blade. It is like a larger blade version of the Harpy. They are wicked looking. I have a serrated and a plain blade version.

Here's a thread in the Reviews forum which talks some about the Civilian.

Heynes van der Merwe posted some great pictures of the Harpy, Civilian and Matriarch last year. I'll try to put these on photopoint and repost them when they're there. I thought James Mattis had also done a picture of the Civilian, but I couldn't find his. He has a great picture of the Matriarch which would make a wonderful mouse pad.

Here's some photopoint pics of the Civilian, Matriarch and Harpy courtesy of Heyns & James (hope the link works):

here's a pic of an old style Civilian. (upper right corner) It has aluminum handles while the newer models have G-10.
