Just purchased on BF. Im not entirely familiar with all packaging from CRK over the years. This is a zaan with a birthdate of 2014. Seems correct but hoping for some opinons from Reeves experts. Washers, hardware. Looks ok to me. I dont remember what the number inside the scales stands for. C14. What is the actual question, if the birthdate is correct or whether it's a fake or you're missing stuff or something else?

Packaging isnt familiar to me. Im used to the heavier cardboard or the square white two piece box.

The packaging is appropriate for the timeframe the knife was produced. From the photos, it appears that you got everything that was originally packaged with the knife except for the cloth - grease, Loctite, three hex wrenches and the paperwork.

I think the color and texture of the scales threw me a bit. Coarse beadblast and lighter scale color 15600239177683929094740430967394.jpg 15600239483801715698095677118941.jpg 15600239791415657106385211819167.jpg Here is a pic.

Never did like those boxes. Trying to put everything back is a pain in the ass

I thought Lone_Wolfe Lone_Wolfe had a pic of the different boxes
If you can assemble a Sebenza without pinching the washers, putting everything in one of those boxes is a piece of cake.

Besides, while it may not be as convenient than the current boxes, it fits nicely in a USPS small flat rate box for shipping.

Yeah, I know USPS has another box that fits the new CRK box, but not many post offices stock it, so you have to order it from USPS.

Not that I'm arguing with you ...

Yes that box for that time is correct it all looks as it should ... and I have one Zaan that is lighter like yours also ... my other is much darker ... must have just been a tweak in the method or media to tumble or blast it ...

and I completely agree I much prefered the other boxes ... they held up much better ... the style you have I do not like I have a NIB I bought for a gift but it didn't work out that way ... but just opening it to inspect it and touch up the edge and back in the box and has a slight tear on the fold over tab ...

makes a guy wanna cuss ...

Box was time appropriate but a complete failure IMO. They were difficult to open and close and I never liked the knife seated in that material. I would much rather it be wrapped in a nice soft cloth.
