I worked up my edge on the condor parang (It's the one with the green plastic handle) and long story short, the person who I allowed to sharpen it destroyed the convex edge and did a horrible job. I'm guessing it's almost cheaper to buy a new one than to have some re-shape and sharpen it. I haven't posted here in a while, I'm just wondering what y'all think. I mean, shipping on it both ways has to be about $25 each way.
I'm not very good at sharpening, and all I have is hand grinders and a bench wheel. I am not sure reshaping a convex edge is the best place for me to begin either. I'm a pretty damn handy guy, but I'm not sure I want to take this on. I will attempt to post some photos tomorrow.
