Does anyone know of a source for plastic (or wood, or Micarta) replacement grips for this pattern machete?

Green or black, or any Micarta, would be just fine.

This blade isn't the only one needful, it's just handy for pics.

Thanks!fullsizeoutput_9667.jpegfullsizeoutput_9666.jpegfullsizeoutput_9664.jpeg

If you aren't able to find OE scales, I'd be willing to make & mount some for you. Looks like either green or natural canvas micarta and brass/brass Loveless bolts might be very close to the OE look. Just the cost of the materials may be more than the you paid for the machete though, just to be upfront.

What happened to that poor machete ?
Apparently it was repurposed as a scraper, or ? Perhaps badly damaged beyond the cut.
That cut must have been difficult; it was started on the branded side...but the final cut on the back is biased to maybe 45 degrees, and then never finished! The saw marks are plainly visible on both faces.

I picked it up as a good pattern for some home-made wooden grips...15 years ago. I've never begun the project and no longer have the motive, nor the patience, to approach it. Hence my naive attempt to find NOS originals or modern aftermarket replacements...they're not to be had, as far as I can tell.

I fully understand, Tuhlmann...Thank you for the response!

When I originally posted, I was sure I could locate the other blade. After a pretty thorough search, it eludes me. I may have passed it on to a highly skilled friend several years back...but my alleged memory failed to record that...and he died early in '21. Widow up-sticked and now lives in New Mexico...That, as they say, its the end of that (if true...I'll keep looking!).

If found, it'll be worth your effort...and we'll resume this discussion. Thanks, again!

How much would you charge to make the handles? I have the same machete, and have been trying to find original replacements, but haven't had any luck.
