Their prices are way higher than you would find at 1sks or at knifeoutlet, and they take forever to ship their product. I've bought twice from them before I realised there were better places to shop, and now I realize I was an idiot not too look around more before buying from them. If anyone disagrees with me, I will be supprised, but of course all opinions are relivant.

US Cavalry used to have a store in Columbus, Georgia and were notorious for overpricing stuff. Several years ago when I was at Fort Benning I used to go there all the time. I remember walking into their store to check out their knives and seeing a bead blasted partially serrated EDI Genesis priced at an unheard of $189 bucks. I asked to speak to the store manager and told him that the advertised MSRP for the bead blasted Genesis (at the time) was $135 dollars. I even took a copy of Blade magazine to show him one of the old EDI ads. He simply stated that their buyer priced the items and that there was nothing he could do about it. Once in a while, you could catch a good deal on closeout items, but for the most part the troops always complained about that particular store's bad service. Eventually they bagan carrying fewer quality knives and began stocking cheap knockoff brands like Master and Fury and ended up closing the store.

When I was stationed at Fort Knox in the late "70's, the original CAV store in Radcliff was more reasonably priced and had a bunch of things the Clothing Sales Store didn't have (permanent press fatigues, for instance) but as time has gone buy, they have changed their ways and are really proud of their merchandise because they charge so much to let it go!

I have always been happy with Brigade Quartermasters (except that their online catalog is a kludge :) ) and Sportsman's Guide is another regular shop of mine. But you do have to be careful with the Guide. I wouldn't buy used clothes and any warehouse stuff from a previous era is probably mildewed deep down in the fibers  They also carry the occasional godawful knockoff knives, but I think most of us would catch that and avoid them.

I guess I should check out Ranger Joe's. Thanks!
