well, knowing cold steel, this wont come out till mid, to late 2012. as with all the other 2012 peoducts. but this is the only one that really cought my eye as being usefull (they also came out with a shield for some reason). they only have pictures up on Facebook right now, so the websites 2012 section is currently empty as im typing this.
my thoughts on it from thisw one picture are: this will likely be along the same lines as the mini tac series, with an aus-8 blade, and pricing around $40- $30 online. it ay also turn out like the point gueard knives, and be $60. the point may be extreemly acute like on the minitacs, but also looks alot like the "Hold out" series. so it may be a bit stronger of a tip then on say, the kiridashi. im also expecting eather a larger or serrated model in the future. otherwise, i think they would have just called it the "Braveheart" mini tac, or something. its name is similar to the para-edge, and other neck knives like it.. but cold steel is doing a trend this year with the word edge. ssuch as there new "Survival edge". a large hollow fixe blade with a fire steel.
speaking of wich, there are also serrated versions of the mini tac skinner and tanto.
many of the comments on the're facebook page state that cold steel will be updating the site with specs very soon. likely by the end of today.
although it would be really nice to see cold steel bring a low cost, small fixed blade, in san mai 3. i doubt it.
whats your guys take on the new ""Secret edge"?

and just to let you all know. im not kidding about the shield.
