New Buck, Bantam 285

I have grown to really like the Bantams, especially the 285's, great size and weight for EDC. So I grabbed one of these from the holiday offerings at the big box store.

Bantam 285 with Orange/Brown Head Hunterz Camo, which I really like, nice "skull and antlers" design. They also have them in a White/Brown version, which I will probably grab one next time I'm there.

Thanks Dave, the Bantam series is starting to get under my skin. Nice affordable knives!
 
BCCL, that is a good looking buck... I need to get me one... Do the different colors come in the xmas sets... ITE ... :thumbup:

Individually packaged, $20.00 each. That camo pattern is cool, I thought it was blaze orange at first glance, then "saw" the skull and antlers and couldn't pass it up.

At least I got some form of "deer" this year now, since I totally tanked deer season this year! First season since I started hunting that I didn't get fill my tag. :(
 
I wouldn't have noticed the deer on the handle. I have a blaze orange Buck camo ball cap that I need to look at closer now. I guess a person really can look at things and not see them. :)

I`ve got the same one, wrapped up under the tree waiting for Christmas morning. My wife said it was too good of a deal to pass up.
 
I just picked one up on Thursday. I agree Bear Claw, the Bantam series is a rugged light knife. I prefer the 286 cause i figger the bigger the folder the better, but the 285 is just fine. Starting to hint to the wife about the white version for a stocking stuffer.:D
 
No Buck love at the local box shop:(. Will check the next towns BBs later! I like the looks of both the white & the Blaze O.

Apparently some stores did not get them both, my local one has both, but another store in the same chain 15 miles away only got the orange. (Sporting Goods manager was not happy about it)
 
Just got myself one of those last night a Walmart for $20, was the only one i saw, guess it was the last one they had.

A lot of the stores where I'm from don't order them. What sucks is the one store that always ordered them got closed when a super store was opened in the next town over. That super store was going to be at the other end of our town, but, the non-box folks got the tree hugers to keep delaying the ground breaking so they just built in in the next town and closed ours down.....politics :eek:

I saw a bunch of them on the end cap at the local store but didn't realize the pattern was back a few days later after seeing this thread and they were all gone.
 
Yep, they are flying out of my local "box" store fast. Was there 5 days ago and there were 5 cardboard displays with 12 knives in each or the orange, and 3 of the white. Yesterday it's down to 2 and 1 respectively.


I will say, that I was on the phone with someone at Buck's CS last week and mentioned how much I liked these new handles, and asked him if they were just available in the big chain store for the holidays, and his reply was "for now", so I assume eventually they will be in other retailers.
 
I just picked one up tonight. It has to go under the tree as a gift from my daughter.:p The wife said so.

I went with the white one but will probably go get an orange one now that I know they're selling that fast. Just in case they don't come back around and because I've been bitten by the Buck bug lately. ;)
