My newest axe offering. At 11.5" OAL with a head width of 5.5" and a thickness of .375" at the head and .125 at the pommel the steel is 1075 RC to 57-58. The handles are coyote brown G-10, its total weight is approx. 1.5 lbs. The finish is etched (thanks for the pointers Patrick). The sheath is .88 felt lined kydex. The handle has been torch drawn for durability. I consider this to be a mini tactical/rescue axe thus the gas shut off notch on the head. Am I getting closer? Thanks for your thoughts.

Looks awesome Dave!!! I like the whole package. I've got to get out to see you soon. Keep it up.

Very nice!

How did you line the sheath with felt?

Since it is a 2pc. Constructed sheath I took the two halves out of the press before they were totally cool, applied a liberal coating of quality contact cement (in spray can form) to both the kydex and felt on both sides and put the two halves back around the axe and back into the press until totally cooled. I then use a heat gun and a 1/4" piece of round stock form the lead in into the sheath. Hope that helps John.

Thanks Patrick for the compliment. I appreciate it.

I really like this design.

I would carry it with me in the car for sure. Would be good for rescue/car camping.

That is awesome. I really like the overall design a lot.

That whole package looks good, and that etch turned out nice.
I like the design, and it would be interesting to hear some feedback after some actual use.

I appreciate the feedback guys. The cutting edge is 3" in length. I will be offering a couple more of these axes in the for sale section within 2-3 weeks. Also I will try to get some performance feedback info posted ASAP.
