New to Forum, USA, Japan, or Taiwan?

I am left handed. I have been told the kydex sheaths are reversable, is that true? I would like a large fixed blade with stainless blade. I really liked the looks of the tech bowie or gov- tac but I see they are made in Taiwan. Is there an SOG anything like these two made in USA or Japan? How much difference is there in the quality of the steel from these 3 places. If you had to choose your favorite large SOG that came with a sheath that was ambi which one would it be?

First of all welcome to the Forums, ours in particular!:thumbup:

Heat treat is the key more than the steel, and I think Taiwan is fine. That said, there are some of the older models made in Seki Japan - Trident, SEAL 2000, etc, that you can still find. Worst case, there are LOTS of folks here who can make you a great sheath in leather or Kydex. I would suggest picking the knife, not necessarily based on the sheath.
