Nike Hiking Boots/Shoes Becoming Unglued.
Anyone else have this happen to Nikes or other brands of hiking boots/shoes?
This has happened to me on three pairs of Nike hiking boots where the soul begins separate from the boot.
Too many fails to buy Nike again. The first ones wore like iron with great comfort, which sold me on Nike in the first place.
Got to find a good hiking boot, that won't fall apart.

BTW: Is there anything better than shoe goo on the market?

If you haven't had them very long I am sure they would refund/give you a new pair. If you want the similar style I think Under Armor makes some as well. But if you want durability I would get some true hiking boots by a company that specializes in them.

Don't know about "shoe goo", never heard of it but I have had very good results using good ol' gorilla glue to reattach sole's.

BTW one of our dogs looks exactly like your avatar, he's a 3/4 timber wolf 1/4 husky hybrid, snow sticks to his face exactly like in your photo.

shoe goo is a waste, at least for me. I have had many pairs separate like that, the only thing that ever worked is to drill a very small hole under the inside foot bed and bolt the areas together using an inside and outside plate to prevent pull through. I have used a larger pc of leather on the inside with a fender washer with success, even riveted 2 pair. At 260 lbs I think the wt. makes it happen and the wet ground I am always in ???

I'd venture your crisis is more existential than brand-related.

Good luck out there. ;)

I don't buy shoes/boots that are not stiched where the uppers join the sole.

If it isn't sewn then it isn't worth buying.

I've come to this conclusion myself. I prefer my boots to be Goodyear welted and/or nailed on.

LOL :D

I blame it on the Beatles. After buying their LP's, life changed but my spelling hasn't. Their Spell on the Baby Boomer's lasted through to today. :D

Good point, They end up being dual purpose hiking/work boots anyway.

Gorilla is my go to glue for most things, I was thinking the bond would break from the flex.

Other than the yellow eyes in the image, we did too. The smartest dog we have ever had. His picture is in my profile.

I'll have to try that. I like to get every last mile out of what ever I drive.

Merrell's.

Love them, used them for years, never had a problem.

Owned a pair of these and should try them again. They lasted many moons even after I used them for what they weren't intended for, logging. They were great for walking on fallen tree sidewalks, while carrying a saw up on the shoulder, good traction walking on the bark.

Excellent point.
The work boots I've owned and used through the years didn't separate like this.
These usually get parked as Winter/Spring ends and the hot temps call for a lighter, cooler boots.
