No dates or codes stamped on a Leatherman PST, how old is it?

I need the help of any Leatherman fans out there.

I found a used but very well cared for PST on a pawn shop, it's only $35 which seems a fair price. However when I got to check the tool I couldn't find any markings inside the handles, no productions dates and it actually doesn't seem that worn out so that they actually had been "erased" by use.

Besides the ruler on the handle, there are only three differente markings, on one handle it reads: Leatherman Tool, and on the other: US REG TM 1325473 and Portland OR, and of course the classic Leatherman USA on the joint of the pliers.

Do you have any idea of how old it could be? I understand the PST was produced from the late 70's to the mid 90's right?

Thanks for any input.

From 1983 - 2004 the PST was produced, does it have a lanyard ring? If not it may be one of the early versions,as I understand it only the later versions had the lanyard ring, also if you have or could take a picture it would be very helpful

Thanks for the input, it does have a lanyard ring attached to one of the rivets in the handle.

As for the picture, the knife is in a pawn shop so they won't let me take a picture.

I understand some of the early PST's were made in Japan, does any of you guys know how to identify'em?

Thanks for the link Gareth UK, I'm guessing the one I was eyeing is pre 92 American-made model.
