was just wondering if any manufacturers make one. i work in a magnetized area and having one could be pretty helpful with my job. we are issued box cutters but they are ferrous and not allowed in the work area, which means everything needs to taken care of outside the work area which gets annoying. any help on this. i dont need a crazy ass tactical folder or anything. just a nice 2 inch blade maybe? its just for cutting plastic pieces, hoses, cardboard. a sharp workhorse.

There are many knives with non magnetic blades. For example there are titanium blades which is non magnetic. There are knives with stellite/talonite blades they are non magnetic. There are also dentrituc cobalt blades that are non mag.

You mught have to get a fixed blade though because alot of the folders may have magnetic parts in them.

There was a folder I saw in general a little bit ago that I think was a new TAD design with a cobalt alloy blade and it was designed to be completely nonmagnetic, all hardware is titanium. If you want something crazy overkill, that's the only thing I can recommend. Aside from that, you could look at a titanium box cutter handle and put in a ceramic blade, hut I can't guarantee the handle will be nonmagnetic, usually screws are made of steel.

I handled a boker anto-grav one time. It wasn't bad.

You can buy plastic handled, ceramic bladed utility knives. They work pretty well. Maybe search for no cut ceramic utility knife. Not sure what blade sixe variety is out there though.

I have a last ditch carbon fiber neck knife. They are not meant to be daily users.

Ceramic or titanium fixed blade is your best bet. You can get ceramic fixed blade knives pretty cheap, as in disposable cheap.

I've bought a ceramic 3" paring knife with a plastic sheath from Aldi's for $2.

David Boye makes knives with Dendritic Cobalt, which I believe is non-magnetic. His folder also has a titanium pocket clip and marlin spike (if you choose the marlin spike option). Although the screws are probably magnetic. For the uses you described, I would recommend the serrated sheepsfoot blade. The blade is 3" long.

I would also mention that David Boye's knives are not cheap.

Cobalt is highly magnetic.

The other thing to keep in mind is the hardware. The OP I'm thinking needs the entire knife to be non-magnetic.

This is one pic poor post (I mean thread).
Boker . . . some one said they handled it. Here it is, I got one I love this knife ! ! ! ! It looks so cool (super polished black zirconium blade)( the bevel isn't polished, just ground, but it adds a nice contrast), titanium handle. Be aware a ceramic blade can be a bit less robust. Prying is right out; don't even think about prying with it.
PS: the pocket clip and maybe some of the hardware actually has some iron in it (magnet sticks to it) so . . . ya know . . . can't believe anything you read in product descriptions.
Get set up to sharpen with diamond stones preferably with a guided system (Edge Pro of course). Silicon Carbide (wet or dry paper) will sort of sharpen it but it takes a while and really isn't the way to go.

The white blade is obviously a fixed blade with a cord wrapped handle. It's good but seems a bit chippy.
At the unmentionable site that was mentioned it is called :
TALONZ TALONZ-1 Ceramic DP Plain Blade with Cord Wrapped Handle
Seems to be out of stock but search anyway I was going from my list of orders.

Dendritic Cobalt
As I understand it you don't want to expose yourself to cobalt dust from sharpening.
You might grow another arm . . . or some thing.
No . . . it will make you go cross eyed and attack lions with just your teeth . . . like Honey Badger . . . that was it. Ya stay away from cobalt.

Well I stand corrected on the Boye knives. He says dendritic cobalt is non-magnetic. Alrighty then, ignore me. :)
