Noob question - SOG Aegis pocket clip

Hey guys I have had a SOG Aegis for a few months and I love it for a folder I wear while still hunting. (Camo handle, coated blade)

The only issue is the tension on the pocket clip is EXTREME. It's hard to get cloth in the clip when putting the knife in pocket. It's hard pulling the knife out of pocket because the clip tension feels like its going to rip pocket material. After some moderate deploying and replacing the knife - my finger tip is sore from messing with that clip.

Is there anyway to loosen up that pocket clip tension without risking ruining the clip or (heaven forbid) the knife?

I am wondering if this is a common issue and more importantly - whether there is a workaround.

I don't have a Aegis but this can happen with other knives.

You can try and bend the clip slightly to loosen the tension.

On knives with g10, I have sanded the the section that contacts the clip and that worked pretty well. Looking at the Aegis this may or may not be helpful though.

Just take the clip off and bend it out a bit. I've never wanted to decrease retention but I have bent a bunch off clips to increase retention. If you some how screw up the SOG will send you a new one.
